Georgia “Jam” Pete Cassidy was born on July 22,1940 in Brooker, Florida. She was the eldest child of Willie James and Alberta Pete, a role she embraced with pride and responsibility. Georgia was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.
Georgia’s laughter, encouragement, and generosity brightened every room. She was more than a mother, godmother, sister or friend- she was a faithful servant of God. She attended Glorious Hope Primitive Baptist Church for over 50 years. Led by the Holy Spirit, she was President of the Mother’s Board, Church school of Wisdom Scholar, Mass choir, Pastor’s aide, prayer meeting and bible discussion participant, church financial secretary and church historian.
Her greatest joy was her family. Georgia poured her heart into raising her children-
Georgia leaves to cherish her memory; her sons, Wayne ( Rebecca) Pete, Kenneth (Melissa)Cotton; daughters, Rosalyn ( Frederick) Murray, Tracey Pete, Jacqueline Pete; stepchildren, Joseph Jr., Curtis( Cherry), Nathaniel ( Deborah) and Penny; siblings, Willie James ( Mildred) Pete, Charles ( Dorothy) Pete Sr., Earnest Pete Sr., Wanda Edwards, Linda Gail Pete and Samuel Pete; godchildren, Margret and Tiffany,21 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and an adopted granddaughter, Kathryn.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Cassidy and siblings; Geneva Thomas, Lelia Thomas, Ray Pete, Edward Pete, Patrick Pete, Daniel Patterson, Glenda and Lorenza.
Visitation for Georgia Pete Cassidy will be on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 12 pm to 5pm at Clark Funeral Home, 434 NW Martin Luther King Jr Ave, Ocala, Fl 34475.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday October 18, 2025 at 11am at The New Glorious Hope Primitive Baptist Church, 1638 SW Fort King Street, Ocala, Fl 34471.
