Joseph Robert Cloud affectionately known as “JR” was born on July 22, 1985 peacefully answered the Master’s call on May 23, 2026.
JR graduated from Eastside High School, Class of 2003. He later earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science from the historic HBCU, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University ( FAMU), where he proudly served as a devoted member of the world renowned Marching 100 Band.
JR was truly an inspiration to everyone blessed to have known him. He was known for his warm smile, kind heart and gentle spirit. He loved music especially marching bands and old- school jams. He had a deep appreciation for nature and the wilderness. His love for the outdoors led him to become a proud Boy Scout and earn the distinguished Eagle Scout Award.
JR also had a passion for cooking and a greater passion for teaching and educating future generations. He believed in encouraging others and making a difference in the lives of those he encountered.
JR was preceded in death by his father, Willie Cloud and he leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving mother, Valerie ( Mr. Neal) Brushlot of Florida; four brother, Leon Blunt of Williston, Fl., David Hampton ( Alexis) of Gainesville, Fl., Christopher Cloud of Arlington, TX., and Charles James Driver of Port Orchard, WA; two sisters, Wilhemena Cloud of Largo, Fl., and Michelle Driver of Tallahassee, Fl.; cherished aunts, Lela Gordon of Connecticut, Jessie Norward of Atlanta, GA., Loretha Williams of Ocala, Fl., Salena Cloud of Gainesville, Fl., and Floretta Cloud of Micanopy, Fl.; great-aunt, Alberta Bowden of Jacksonville, Fl.; uncles, Richard Jones Jr. ( Joyce) of Micanopy, Fl., Retired Dr. Lt. Colonel Randall Owens ( Rosa) of Columbia, Sc and Leamon “buddy” Cloud (Jackie) of Apollo Beach, Fl., four nephews, Tyler, Norris, Michael, and Isaiah; two nieces, Simone and Ayanna , one great-niece, Sofia and a host of cousins, classmates, co-workers, students, friends and loving relatives.
Public viewing for Joseph Cloud will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 12 pm to 5 pm at Clark Funeral Home, 434 NW MLK jr . Ave, Ocala, Fl. 34475
Funeral service will be on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11am at New St. Paul Church, 19431 NW 100th Ave, Micanopy, Fl., 32667
