Arne R. Luoma, 79 passed away on December 7, 2012 at his home. He leave to cherish his memories, his wife, Lien Kim Tran Luoma; children Elizabeth Louise Goff, Diane Carol Luoma, Trin Tan, Jake Luoma; grandchildren Yousra Hassanein, Sara Payne (David), Amanda Jean Sage (James), Laura Pollard, Eban Tran; great-grandchildren Hayden Micah Payne and Ava Elizabeth-Rose Pollard; sister-in-law Lan Tra, cousins and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Arne Oscar Luoma and Elizabeth (Betty) Luoma as well as his sisters Sylvia, Rose and Bette Preston. Arne was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He served in the Korean War as a Marine. He was a worldwide traveler and outdoorsman. He experimented with many different lifestyles including farming and homesteading in Alaska. His interests included hiking; he once hiked part of the Natchez Trace-and canoeing; he completed a 3 month canoe trip from Tok, Alaska to Juneau, Alaska. He worked all over the United States and in foreign parts including the Alaskan Pipeline, in the North Sea and the Far East. He lived a full and rewarding life. He was a wonderful husband, father and uncle, was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Interment will follow a service at Florida National Cemetery-Bushnell, Fl., with honors provided by Marine Core Military Memorial Honor Guard. Condolences may be posted to: cunninghamfhocala.com
