Obituary
Willie (Bill) Franklin Gill Jr. was born to Willie F. Gill, Sr. and Mary Frances Wright Gill on August 29, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bill received his formal education at the University Of Cincinnati and his advanced education at Case Western University in Cleveland.
Upon graduation, he started his career journey which included Mobil Oil in sales and Proctor & Gamble in the Research and Development Department. Though he always called himself “just a salesman”, Bill was a businessman and CEO for Burden Chemical in Richmond, Virginia until his retirement in 2006.
Bill was married earlier to Eleanor Burden Gill (now deceased) and three children were born to this union. His life journey led him to later meet and marry Charlotte Brannon Davis. Upon retirement and in his leisure, Bill enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and loving friends. He served as President of the Bridge Club and held membership in the Cosmopolitan Club and “Just Us” Men’s Club.
He accepted Christ at a young age. Upon his relocation to Florida, he became a faithful member of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church and the 50+ Ministry.
Bill transitioned from this life to be with God on April 7, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His loving wife, Charlotte D. Gill, Ocala, Florida; three wonderful children, Cicely D. Gill, Richmond, Virginia, Camille D. Gill, Raleigh, North Carolina, and William F.(Leona) Gill, Columbia, South Carolina; stepdaughter, Shawnda Davis, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two beautiful grandchildren,
